I’m conceptualizing his next project which will be entitled “The Nth Degree”. Initially thought of as my final album concept, I then figured that people need to hear the REAL sooner than later.
Time and time again I hear people talk about how bad the music game, particularly the RAP game, is. To an extent, I totally agree. I think people don’t WANT to hate on the music that’s out today Ultimately, the people want BALANCE. Just because you have a collection of underground rap music, doesn’t mean the game as a whole is truly balanced. We need these large media outlets to give talented artists a chance….talented hip hop artists a chance. But on the flip side, just because you consider yourself an “underground” artist, doesn’t mean you DESERVE to be given an opportunity on a large stage. You don’t get a “keep it real” or “real hip hop” pass. That notion is DEAD! True talent should shine thought…And with that, I mean any artist that aren’t afraid to come from their heart…be real with themselves on the mic…creating music that comes from THEIR soul! The era of the carbon copy rappers are OVER!
So The Nth Degree will focus on topics that are important to me….not necessarily preachy…just brutally honest. Hip Hop needs that right now. The game is so “pop” now that we don’t even realize just how empty our music has become. I think one reason why a lot of artists in other genres are becoming so successful, is because of their stray away from the “pop music” norm. Music lovers still want to hear great music from the soul. There is a place for pop music, but that’s not all I want to hear on the radio all day. Give me variety! Yes, I myself am an artist. But I am a music fan first and always!
So The Nth Degree will be a no-holds barred type of album. Just recording what I feel. No set format as far as features or producers. It will be based on feeling. One thing I will make sure, though, is that the music will remain soulful and BANG! But it will be different from a typical Justus League sound that you might be used to. Hopefully, with the release of “Floetry In Motion“, you are beginning to understand the direction I’m looking to move with my music…organic soul. Trends have never, and will never, be something I consider when it comes to my own music.
I’ll keep you all updated on the progress of The Nth Degree in future posts. I’m looking forward to the process! peace.
