“Think” Great, BE Great

If you think it into existence, it WILL happen.  Simple as that.  And on the flip side, if you think negatively, only negativity will come your way.  It doesn’t really sound like a major notion, but it is.  Positive thoughts can make you tackle any negativity head on.  That’s not to say that you will win every battle, as sometimes losing and standing back on your two feet leads to a victory down the road.  But thinking positively will make any confrontation easier to handle and give you a better chance of winning.

Paul Robeson excelled in singing, acting, sports, and education during the early to mid 1900s, traveling the world and reaching his goals with hard work.  This was during a time when black people were either fighting for Civil Rights, or staying content with their status in society.  Regardless of the times, Mr. Robeson KNEW he could and would be great.  And I’m sure it all began with THINKING these achievements into existence.  I stay motivated by his determination to be great in my own right.  I may not play the role of Othello like he did on Broadway,  but I feel I can achieve whatever I choose to, all beginning with the THOUGHT of achievement.

The worst a person can do is be mad at the world because they hadn’t achieved their own goals.  Any goals of interest begin with you, so the end result also begins with you.  There will always be obstacles in your way.  And I doubt there is ever a “perfect” environment that you should wait for to tell yourself it’s time to achieve your dreams.  Your focus, hard work, and determination will hold its own weight right this very moment.  It’s all up to you to take action and make that move.

I personally have my own goals that I have honestly delayed for a variety of reasons.  But I have always continued towards my goals in an indirect way.  When it comes to my music endeavors (which are my primary goals), I always continue to study this music game, and choose to build this knowledge to help my career, as well as lend a helping hand for others.  I could care less about 15 seconds of fame online or in a magazine.  That’s not what defines success for me.  A big piece to being great, in my opinion, has to do with not being afraid to help other people on the same grind. As long as they are open to receive help, any knowledge I have is available to anyone.  And also, a true leader knows how to lead by example, so I choose to move in a way that can show another person that it’s possible to be great, be successful, and most importantly, be influential by SHOWING people how it’s done.

Keep positive vibes surrounding you will only bring positive results your way.  You can’t revolve yourself around negative people, either.  Learn to build with those that also bring positive vibes.  These are the type of people who will, at minimum, push you to work harder towards your goals by motivating yourself with their energy.  We can ALL be great in whatever we choose.  Don’t let the wrong thoughts, actions, people, circumstances, or THINKING deter you away from what you want to become in this world.
